The BIDO Update
Dec 17th
I’m sure all of you must have received the updates from Bido about the latest updates that it has undergone. The whole site layout has been changed to make it easier for you to see what domains are in auction. I’ll try and explain what I understand from the updates.
The New Look Bido
Voting Credits Think the most important update is the fact that each account now has 100 voting credits for free. You can buy more – 222 for each Bido credit of $8.88 or 4c each.
You can also add upto 3 (?) votes for every domain you’re voting on. If the domain More >
5 Suggestions to Improve Bido
Oct 15th
This post is in response to Sahar’s call for feedback on Bido:
I’m here to ask from you, Bido member, or a Bido observer, to tell us what you like about Bido, what you don’t like, and anything else you have in mind.
1. Remove the absolute bid system
It adds nothing to the auctions, just stops a lot of people from bidding a max they would be happy to pay for it and forget about it. We’re all overworked, tracking auctions isn’t always possible. I wanted a domain I would have happily paid $50 for, but 14 minutes before the end of the auction More >

Bido finally got their validation system done the right way. Emails for validation. Still a little buggy, press ‘resend email’ once and the system sends it 3 times :p But at least you’re spared the pain of adding the bido code to each and every domain.
Now if they can only figure out whois validation of email ID on record. Like Sedo. That would make it totally awesome.
And speaking of Sedo – two new features which you might or might not be aware of -
- Auto categorisation – do check the categories though, its auto, so not perfect by a long shot, More >
Major changes to Bido
Aug 13th
Just got an email today from Bido outlining major changes they’re making to the auction platform. It sure looks like that they have thought this out in totality and it certainly looks like it could be a good profit center.
Here is the entire email followed by my comments:
We’ve just released a few new changes at Bido and we’re really excited to let you know about what’s new. In addition to many minor enhancements throughout the site, these are the big changes that you’ll notice, and we hope you enjoy:

The All New Bido
Jul 10th
Web companies are known for the speed of implementation and nothing has ‘grown’ faster and more organically than Bido – the domain auction platform that really sets the standard today for live domainer led auctions.
First, the new features -
1. Sitewide Chat – Drop in, you just might get to speak to some of the most progressive domain minds on the planet, specially Sahar Sarid.
2. Voting feature: Like a domain and want it in auction? Vote it up. More votes, higher placement in the queue, it’s a system that really works imho.
3. Multiple Auctions per day: Till now Bido auctioned only one headliner More >
Guest Speaker at Bido.com Today!
Jun 1st
I’ve been invited by the good folk over at Bido.com to be the guest speaker today in their chat room during today’s auction.
The domain on sale is poison.me and should be interesting to see what .me does outside the registry auctions etc.
So catch you in a bit, that’s 1st June 2009, 1pm EST. See you there!
I don’t know if you all noticed…

That I am now a moderator on NamePros for the ccTLD forum.
Just trying to give back to the community as I told Corey from Fusion Explorers. The rest of the interview might make for light reading
Also, I’ve been accepted by the good folks at Bido as an industry expert. I’m honoured. I get to have my say on their domains before the auction. I find Bido quite intriguing, do pay them a visit, their one domain auctioned per day is certainly a unique format in these days of million domain listing marketplaces.
